Ms. Moushumi Sarmah She has done her Masters in Law (LL.M) from Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) with specialization in Corporate and Business Law and has completed her B.A.LL.B (Hons) from Gauhati University. She also holds a diploma in cyber law and computer application and has also successfully completed certificate courses on International Investment Law and International Contracts. Her areas of interest include Contract Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Law of Torts, Company Law, Securities Law, Competition Law. Prior to joining NEF, she practised in Gauhati High Court and lower courts and was also a faculty member for CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) in a number of institutes. She has several publications in International as well as National Journals to her credit and has also presented various research papers covering different areas of law in International and National Seminars, Conferences and Workshops. As a law student, she was an active Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) in Assam State Legal Services Authority where she provided free and competent legal services to weaker sections of the society, organized, participated and even anchored in front of esteemed Judges of High Court and Supreme Court in seminars conducted by Assam State Legal Services Authority and even interviewed people to appoint as Para Legal Volunteer in District Legal Services Authority. She was also an intern in Assam State Information Commission where she reviewed the RTI applications and also provided assistance with many legal research and queries. Further, she had also done internship under Senior Advocate of Gauhati High Court and was also associated with a number of NGOs. She is also a Visharad in Singing under Bhatkhande Sangit Vidyapith, Lucknow and has also been awarded Governor’s Award in Junior Red Cross. In addition, she has also completed course in visual arts under Gauhati Artists Guild as well as in rock climbing, river crossing and trekking organised by Assam Mountaineering Association.
